Default Opening a word document from IE missing information

Hi,

In my work place we have created a word template (.dot) and we have created
documents that has been created based on that template. Those documents act
as the base for the other documents. And these documents have been posted on
our intranet. When ever a user wants to create a documnet using this base
document, they will go to the intranet site and use them.

But our problem is, when they click on the link for the base document, it
opens in the MS word but it is missing some information, also page number
alignment is getting messed up.

this does not happen to everyone, but for some of the users. but when we
save the base document and open it, it works fine. Does anyone know why this
is happening?

Any help will be appreciated.
