I have been inserting hyperlinks in to my documents for years. All of a
sudden this past month, when I am pasting text with a hyperlink included it goes white. I've done all the other autoformat things but can't find how to stop this from happening. I haven't upgraded my program either but I do have a new computer and maybe my personal settings got reset. |

Check the definitions of the character styles named Hyperlink and
FollowedHyperlink. By default they include Color:Blue and Color:Violet, respectively. Probably one of them has accidentally been changed to white. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. csylvester wrote: I have been inserting hyperlinks in to my documents for years. Jay - that was exactly it. We have begun using new templates and what seems
to have happened is that the program default style changed itself to white. I had to modify the style in all the corporate templates to reflect the fix. Thanks so much for your help! I am using word 2003 and building a page to access various links either
bookmarks within word or outside sources. I too have had the color of my font change to red which I don't want it to do when I click on a link. I could not follow any advice on here enough to understand where and how exactly to correct this problem. If someone could give me clear cut directions/advice, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Hi JJ
A style controls the formatting of hyperlinks--that is, Word knows when text is a hyperlink and by changing the hyperlink style, you can tell Word to make all hyperlinks red or pink or whatever you like, in one step. To change the style, see the instructions he http://shaunakelly.com/word/styles/ModifyAStyle.html The relevant styles are Hyperlink and Followed Hyperlink--change them if you don't like them. Just like a web page changes the color of links you have followed, Word changes the styles of links you have clicked on to Followed Hyperlink, but these two styles can be identical in appearance if you prefer.
