Hi ?B?ZWFzdGVybmhhbW1lcg==?=,
How do you insert document details in headers and footers in office 2007 You mean like the file name? The most direct way I can find is 1. Insert Tab, click the Header (or Footer) button, then choose the "Edit" command 2. From the Header & Footer tools tab, click "Quick Parts" then choose the "Field" command. 3. Select the field name FileName 4. Set any formatting properties you want, activate the "Add path to filename" checkbox if you want the path. OK Other kinds of file information, such as file size, can be found in the same place. Hi ?B?ZWFzdGVybmhhbW1lcg==?=,
It's a bit more complicated than word 2003 Yes, but you do have a couple of options to streamline things 1. You can add the Insert Field command to the QAT so that you can call up the dialog box quickly 2. You can set up a header or footer that you use often, select it, then add it to your "Building blocks" so that you can use it from the menus. For example, set up a paragraph with all the information you usually use in a footer. Select it. Insert tab, Text group, Quick Parts button. Click "Save Selection to Quick Part Gallery". Now you can give it a descriptive name, select the "Gallery" ("Footers", for example), assign it to a category, type in a longer description, choose a place to save it and specify how it should be inserted. If you choose (for example) the "Footers" Gallery, then it will be in the list when you click the "Footers" button on the Insert tab.
