Macrobutton and Merged Fields from MS Access
I have a document that I use to merge a couple of fields from an Access
database. The merge works fine with our without the macrobuttons on the form. My problem is that one I merger my data into the form, my macrobuttons do not work. I am using the Checked Box and Unchecked Box macrobuttons just like the one on the Fax template. Before I merge my access data, the macrobuttons work just fine. |

Make sure the macros that run when you click the MACROBUTTON fields are
either in the Normal.dot template, or (usually better) in a /template/ that is listed in Word Tools|Templates and Addins|Global Templates and Addins (you can add your own templates to this list). If the macros are in the mail merge main document, the output document does not contain them so the macrobuttons do not work. If the macros are in a template that the mail merge main document is attached to, but which isn't Normal.dot or listed in the Global Templates and Addins, then the output document is attached to that template, but unfortunately the macros in it will not "fire" until you close and re-open the document. BTW, this certainly works here but I don't know whether it always works.
