I have a doc file saved that I have emailed out to people. When they return
an edited version of back to me through email, it won't open on my computer.
I have been able to open it on other computers. Even if I save it to my hard
drive, and try to open it then, no luck. A window appears and says word
cannot open it because of a few possible reasons. One suggests that my file
is corrupted or damaged (I've tried to "Recover" the file, and tried to "Open
and Repair"-both dont work), or I dont have permission to open it, or not
enough space (I have plenty of space), or there is a lock on it. I have
re=formatted my computer in the past, so is there something I need to
re-download from microsoft? Maybe some setting I need to change? Thank you,

Some email systems have a tendency to damage attached Word documents. To
check if this is the problem, ask one of your people to zip the edited
document and email the zip file to you.
