Default Normal.dot

How do i find Normal.dot when it fails to appear when I search for it in
Windows Explorer? The search result is "no files found".

Make sure you are including hidden and system files in your search. The most
likely location is Documents and Settings\(userid)\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates.
