Default how do i insert a new template in merge when it isn't listed in se

Our printer at work will not accept any standard Avery label templates, so we
were forced to buy special Xerox templates. The only problem is, the
template that I need is not listed in the setup part where the standard Avery
and other templates are located. I was able to download the Word document
from the Xerox site, and it is the correct format (I tried printing it with
all the generic name, address 1... and it was the correct format), but I
cannot figure out how to get my excel file to merge with that Xerox document
that I downloaded from their site.

Any ideas? Thanks.

With that document as the active document, open the mailmerge data source
and insert the necessary fields where you want them in the first label on
the sheet. Copy that cell to the second label on the sheet and insert a
Next Record field (from the Word Fields button) before the first
mergefield on that label and then copy that second label to all of the other
labels on the sheet.

If you are using XP or later, you should turn on the Mailmerge toolbar
(ViewToolbars) as it will be easier with that than with the wizard.

I cannot however think of any reason that the Xerox printer will not use
Avery templates. Labels are just tables with fixed cell dimensions.

Alternatively to the above, you can probably find an Avery template that is
similar to the Xerox template that you have and modify the dimensions to
suit.
