I have just got hold of word and excel 2007 trial
I have created a spreadsheet with more than 255 columns containing merge data When I try to merge into word it only sees the first 255 merge columns (fields) Surely the limit for merge columns has been increased now that the spreadsheet can have more than 255 colums - so why does it not work? I suggest you e-mail and ask for this to be fixed. You never know your luck. The limitation is probably in the Jet OLEDB provider that Word uses, by default, to get data from Excel. That limitation /might/ be related to a 255-column limit in Jet which it might be difficult for Microsoft to overcome without nasty side effects, but I suspect that that limitation is actually probably rather easily overcome. FWIW, when I tried to use the old DDE method to connect, it only sees 90 columns, so I guess it's well and truly on its way out. Peter Jamieson "Patrick" wrote in message ...
