The page is exactly what you need. Mail merge in Word 2002/3 uses only the
raw data from Excel. You must add formatting switches to your inserted fields to achieve the results you require. Both types of field are covered with examples of their use. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Kelzina wrote: hi doug, thanks for your time, however im finding it hard to understand that website. from what i can tell its saying to put code into word... but all im wanting to do is get numeric data from excel and put it in word keeping the same formatting. either what i'm looking for is there and im blind or that website isn't exactly what i needed. thank you anyway See "Formatting Word fields with switches" on fellow MVP Graham Mayor's website at http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm -- Hope this helps.
