Family address directory with address blocks using 2 columns
I want to create a family address BOOKLET (11x8 1/2) so that the merge will
automatically put the names/addresses in 2 columns per page. Is this possible? For example, the booklet (which is a sheet of paper turned sideways) will show 2 columns of names/address blocks on the left page AND also the same on the right side of the page. Remember, the booklet is a piece of paper turned sideways and folded in half...I'm sure you already know this. See below: Left side of page: John Doe Mary Doe 123 N. River St. 456 S. Main St. XYZ, MO 12345 ABC, MO 12345 Son Doe Daughter Doe 789 Stevens Rd. 1011 Allen Tr. XYZ, MO 12345 ABC, MO 12345 and so forth. The right side of the page will look exactly the same as above. Thanks. |

Family address directory with address blocks using 2 columns
Hi ?B?dGpzbWFncw==?=,
I want to create a family address BOOKLET (11x8 1/2) so that the merge will automatically put the names/addresses in 2 columns per page. Is this possible? Yes, it's possible. Set up the main merge document in landscape, with two columns (Format/Columns). Insert the set of merge fields to generate a single address. Make sure there's an empty paragraph after the last paragraph containing merge fields. Select all the paragraphs containing mergefields, then activate "Keep together" and "Keep with next" in Format/Paragraph/Line and page breaks. This will ensure that the addresses stay together in a block in the same column. You leave the empty paragraph out of this formatting so that each address block is able to move to the next column, as required. River St. 456 S. Family address directory with address blocks using 2 columns
Word 2003 has some built-in facilities for doing booklets, so it may be that
all you need to do is perform your merge to a new document, then use File|Page Setup|Margins|"Multiple pages"|Book fold" (say) to start layig out the page the way you want. You might also find the following link useful: http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...etPrinting.htm However, it looks as if what you really want to create is a booklet where the left hand page always looks identical to the right hand page (my assumption from your description " The right side of the page will look exactly the same as above."). If that's so, then none of the abovementioned approaches is going to help. So is "right hand page looks the same as left hand page" what you really mean? Peter Jamieson "tjsmags" wrote in message ...
