Default Not Prompted to save document

When I have a new document or existing document open and makes changes to it,
then close I am not prompted to save the changes.
I have deleted Normal.DOt
Reinstalled Office
Looked in the options for a setting that may make a difference but cant find
any.
This is only occurring in Word, but not in Excel or other Office Apps.

Anyone have a clue what might be occurring?

Which version of Word are we dealing with?

My guess would be you have some kind of Add-in that't interfering with the
built-in functionality...

The Goldmine add-in for Word can cause this problem. If you use
Goldmine, then you might ask its makers (
http://www.frontrange.com/goldmine/ ) if they know of a fix. One
user reported that upgrading to the newest version of Goldmine
fixed the problem for him, but there may be other options.
