Default Auto Num in Word 2003

I'm trying to create a 4-digit unique sequential invoice number for a Word
Form. Any ideas? I tried AutoNum but it would only give me 1-digit. It's
basically the same as AutoNum but 4-digit instead of 1.

You could create your unique numbers in an excel spreadsheet. In row one type
1000, then click the lower right point of cell 1 and press the CONTROL key.
Double plus signs will appear - then while holding the CONTROL key scroll
down to the desired number you want to end with. Then just set your word
document up with a merge field linked to the excel spreadsheet.
Hope this helps.

Default Auto Num in Word 2003

I am creating a report in Word 2003 and am using the macro from your site to
create an automatic report number. When I open the document, I get an error
message about the area being protected. Any way around this?
