Can anyone help with this? In Word 2007 I am connecting to a data source
which is a table in the Word format. However, when Word opens the data
source it opens it as read only, therefore I cannot save cahnges after I edit
the source. Any suggestions? I am using the "edit data source" button and
then viewing the source, where I used to save it in Word 2003. Even if I
close the main document, I am prompted to save the data source and get the
read only error. Help!

I only have the beta version of Word 2007 here and there may be differences
but
a. if the data source is in an old-style Word 2003 format .doc document, it
works OK
b. if the data source is in a new-style Word 2007 format .docx document, I
see the problem that you describe.

I think you should report this to Microsoft support directly (you are just
talking to volunteers here). I don't really see any reason why this
behaviour needs to change because of the format change.
