Default using MS Word and and MS accessory imaging

I have Windows XP operating system and MS Office 2003. I am using a scanner
with Microsoft Imaging Accessory to create a .tif file of a questionaire . I
need to be able to get this file into MS Word and then to type in the
information required. I can not get this set-up in MS Word so that I can type
in the information.

Please suggest means for accomplishing my task.

The only practical way to do this for a one-off is to insert the image full
size and set it behind the text. Then build a document over it with a
borderless table or tables to take your entries.
