How much toner is saved by using "toner saving"?
Does anyone know how much toner can be saved by using "toner saving" under
the "print quality" tab when printing? I am pushing for this to be the default for my company but cannot find information on how much it might extend the life of a toner cartridge. |

You need to ask the printer manufacturer as it's not related to Microsoft
Word documents. "HH" wrote in message ... | Does anyone know how much toner can be saved by using "toner saving" under | the "print quality" tab when printing? How much toner is saved by using "toner saving"?
At a wild guess, about minus 25 per cent :-)
If you make that the default, your user's documents will come out grey instead of black. So they will all print everything a second time after changing the setting, using up one and a quarter times as much toner and twice as much paper :-) Sorry :-) On 20/1/07 7:36 AM, in article , "HH" wrote: Does anyone know how much toner can be saved by using "toner saving" under the "print quality" tab when printing? How much toner is saved by using "toner saving"?
Hi John,
That sounds like the issue of "water conserving" toilets. :-) Lots of cities in the US have passed plumbing codes requiring toilets that flush with 1.6 gallons (about 6 litres) or less, compared to older toilets that typically used about 3 gallons. But many of these new models can't flush all the solids at once, so they have to be flushed twice, with a net use of about 10% _more_ water than the old toilets. Comparing the average Word document to the average contents of a loo might be fair, too. g,d&r -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
