I've inserted a Text Form Field in my document, assigned it the Type Date,
with unlimited length, and assigned it a format of mm/dd/yyyy.

My problem is that after locking the document, when I enter a date, such as
12/31/2006, Word zeroes out the month and changes the date to 00/31/2006. It
does that no matter what date I put into the field.

Why is that happening? Any help will be much appreciated.

You need to use MM/dd/yyyy as the format.
