Hi

regarding the problem yest with check boxes. I followed the instructions
from that document (1. Create a protected form. Part 1) but am still having
the same problem.

Is there anyway i can create a template with images (pdf converts),
checkboxes (macros), dropdown lists, and editable fields that saves a
template and once sent and reopens is still functioning (i.e. needs no
reformatting such as locking etc.).
By functioning i mean check boxes check text fields are editable dropdown
boxes work and other sections are locked and uneditable.

Please note: at present only the checkboxes not functioning properly (cannot
tick or untick, cannot edit [doc is locked] but if i double click a new
window opens with its properties.) should I change the checkboxes from
macros to windows checkboxes?

In the article at
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customizat...nTheBlanks.htm, did you
follow the instructions in the "Please Fill Out This Form" series of
articles (written by Dian D Chapman)?

That means adding check boxes from the Forms toolbar, and then
protecting the document, via Tools | Protect Document, or--if you
don't want a password--by clicking the padlock icon on the toolbar.

I still used the check boxes (macros), not windows check boxes. Do I have to
use the windows check boxes?

I'm not sure which check boxes you are referring to. But, as I wrote,
the ones on the Forms toolbar are the ones to use in a protected
document. Unless you are using Word 2007; then, apparently, "content
controls" would be better to use. I don't use Word 2007, though, so I
can't be more specific than that...

Good point.

FWIW, the original thread is "text & checkboxes in document" in
this newsgroup.
