Deleted Footnote Separator show when importing to Adobe InDesign
Is there a way to delete the Footnote separator in Word, so it doesn't show
when importing the doc to Indesign? One of the users at my company deletes the Footnote Separator in Word 2003 documents. When the documents is imported to Adobe InDesign, the Footnote separator is back and very hard to remove. Thanks in advance! -- Stefan |

Have you tried turning off the footnote separator in InDesign *before*
importing? -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Stefan" wrote in message ... Is there a way to delete the Footnote separator in Word, so it doesn't show when importing the doc to Indesign? Deleted Footnote Separator show when importing to Adobe InDesi
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your quick reply! How do I turn off the footnote separator in InDesign before I import the document? I have only found how I should do to not import the footnote itself, using the option "Show import-options" in the mount dialog, where I don't include the footnote. Thanks in advance! -- Stefan "Stefan Blom" wrote: Have you tried turning off the footnote separator in InDesign *before* importing? -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Stefan" wrote in message ... Well, I'm certainly not an expert of InDesign... I just assumed
(though I could very well be wrong) that you could (a) create a document in InDesign, (b) set footnote options for the document (or text frame?), and (c) import the Word document. Logically, this should do what you want. For a more knowledgeable answer, ask in an InDesign forum. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Stefan" wrote in message news Hi Stefan, Thanks for your quick reply! You can't turn it OFF, but you can modify it (maybe to a space...)
There's a procedure in the Help. Assuming that I understood the original question correctly, the
problem isn't that the OP cannot get rid of the footnote separator in Word, but that the separator is recreated in InDesign when the document is imported. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "John McGhie [MVP - Word and Word Macintosh]" wrote in message ... Deleted Footnote Separator show when importing to Adobe InDesi
Hi Stefan and John,
Thanks for your replies! There is no problem delete the separator in Word, but when mounting/importing the document to InDesign, the separator popup in InDesign and then you cannot delete the separator. It seems like deleting the separator in Word only hides the separator. If you have more ideas, please let me know. Deleted Footnote Separator show when importing to Adobe InDesi
Hi Stefan,
Unfortunately, I have not found any InDesign forum that is available from my ISP. But I think the problem occur because the separator is not deleted when I delete it, it's just hidden, in Word. -- Stefan "Stefan Blom" wrote: Did you try asking in an InDesign forum? -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Stefan" wrote in message news Hi Stefan and John, Thanks for your replies!
