entering data into a embedded excel file in word
I have a word document that has a pasted excel file in it. How do I enter
data into the excel file when I am in the word document without double clicking on the excell document and havoing to open it. I want the excel doc to work like a table in the word doc so I can type straight into it Thanks |

If that's what you really want, you have the wrong type of "object".
Re-open the file in Excel, copy the content again. Then - in Word - delete the current Excel object & go to EditPaste Special, choose Formatted Text (RTF), click OK. That will paste the content in as a Word Table retaining the formatting from the Excel file. Keep in mind, though, that any calculated results will be converted to numbers only - they will not re-compute if you make changes to the values they are based on. You'll either have to create calculation fields in their place or manually update any totals, averages, etc. HTH |:) Bob Jones [MVP] Office:Mac On 1/26/07 10:20 AM, in article , "sla" wrote: I have a word document that has a pasted excel file in it.
