I've had Microsoft Works Suite 2004 which came with my computer. Lately when
I try to open a Word document or open Word to create a document the
application is very slow to open. I've cleaned up my computer, reinstalled
word and other programs that I felt might be interfering with word, defragged
the disk - nothing has worked. Has anyone come across this and do you have a
solution?

Any chance you have more than one version of Word on the computer? That
will happen if so; Word has to "reassemble" itself when changing which one
gets used.

Thanks, but that's not the problem. Only the original Works Suite 2004 is on
my computer and I have reinstalled Word. Problem still exists

Make sure your Printer is turned on and responding.

Word will pause to read information from the printer during startup. If the
printer is not responding, things get very slow.
