I once found a very good map system directly from word. Word asked if I
wanted directions frompoint a to point b. I thouht I saved the web address
but didn't? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

If you type a street address in a newer version of Word, it will often create
a "smart tag". Hover over the smart tag with the mouse and a drop down menu
will become available which will give you some basic mapping options.
Probably, what you are talking about is Microsoft's "Live Search" maps.
