Default HELP!!

Hi RAM,

Microsoft Works and Microsoft Word are two different products. If you are
submitting assignments to the instructor, you might ask him or her if it is
acceptable to submit them as .rtf files (I used to do this when I was
teaching).

If so, when you save using Works, make sure you use "Save As" and select
..rtf as the file type.

Alternately, you might try seeing if you can save Works files as .doc (Word)
files. To check, open a file, select Save As, and see if ".doc" shows up as
an option. If not, try downloading this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
and trying again. If this works, you will be able to submit Works files as
..doc files so long as you save them the right way.

Of course, your instructor may have other reasons for wanting you to have
Word. If you are learning features specific to Word in the course, you will
need to get Word. Since you are a student, you should be able to get the
Office Student/Teacher Edition:

It depends what the course is all about. If it is about Word then no. If it
is nothing to do with computers then it should be OK. Works can save in Word
Doc (RTF) format.
