When you use excel you can have several sheets open at the same time under
the one excel file. Can this be done in word?

In other words several documents under the one main document name.

In the one open excel file I could have several tabs for several different
things e.g:
Old cars:
tab1=Fords
tab2=Jags
tab3=Astons

etc
Much more convenient than having one word document for each one.

The problem with that idea is that Word *isn't* like Excel - it's a totally
different type of program designed for a completely unrelated type of
document. However, if you think it through you'll realize that even the
separate *sheets* in an Excel file aren't really separate *pages* either.

You might consider other options, such as applying a Heading Style to the
topics (Ford, Jags, etc.) & using the Document Map [View Menu] to navigate,
as well as a number of other choices.

But if you are storing the info as *data* and prefer the way Excel handles
it, why not just use Excel in the first place?
