I am very fond of Excel's ability to use tabbed worksheets w/in a

In a word, No.

Totally different type of document structure, completely different file
structure. It may sound good, but think about it - as you edit a document &
the content reflows how could you ever have any idea what content was on
which "tabbed" page?

If you're concerned about "easy division of related information & easier
navigation" in a *finished* doc, welllll... that's what PDFs are for

Have you tried using the Document Map (View Menu)?
