I am very fond of Excel's ability to use tabbed worksheets w/in a
spreadsheet, as it allows easy division of related information & easier navigation. Does MS Word have the same functionality? |

In a word, No.
Totally different type of document structure, completely different file structure. It may sound good, but think about it - as you edit a document & the content reflows how could you ever have any idea what content was on which "tabbed" page?
