I have a document that has a lot of edits, rewrites, and several footnotes
that probably didn't get deleted proerly. How do I update or delete extra footnotes that show up in the "cross-reference" list that are no longer a part of my document? Ultimately I want to renumber the footnotes to reflect the changes that were made in the document, and Ctrl+A and Ctrl+F9 do not fix the problem. |

It sounds as if Track Changes has been enabled and the changes not accepted.
