If I re-start numbering in List Number style (Word 03), the style changes to
Caption, and adds numbers to all of the instances of Caption style throughout the document (yes, several dozen tables). Yesterday, when I attempted to get rid of the Caption's mysteriously added new numbering, Word crashes. So I dumped the doc into a new blank one using the same template -- this allowed me to then fix the Caption style and use List Number. Now it's happened again today. However, instead of crashing when I attempt to rid the Caption style of its new, spurious numbering, it just ignores my changes in the style's definition. How can I fix this problem? |
