This has never happened to me before, and I'm totally befuddled. Being
accustomed to using headings to create tables of contents, I usually reserve Headings 5-9 for Appendix or Attachment headings. Today, I'm working on a document (not originally mine) and set up only two headings for this person's TOC; just Heading 1 (non-numeric) and Heading 5 for their appendices. Well, when I tried to assign the page numbering for Appendix A, for instance, my page number displays Appendix A-1 instead of just A-1, A-2, etc. I've NEVER seen the entire heading appear in my page number, so I'm going bonkers trying to figure this out. No other heading numbers are used throughout this document (totally unlike what I'm accustomed to, but, it's the client's paper, and they want it displayed this way). Can someone please tell me what's going on w/this? In all my years of working in Word, this takes the cake. Thanks in advance! |
