How do I populate recent documents list in office 2007 applications?

if you mean you want WORD to list recently opened .docs - so, for example,
you don't need to go looking for them in a folder somewhere, all you have to do is CLICK 'OPTIONS'... then CLICK 'GENERAL' "... then down the list you should see: "recently used file list". It's slightly different in Word 2007: Office button Word Options
Advanced, scroll down to the Display group.
