If I use an auto numbered style at the top of a page, before a manual page
break, and then cross-reference to that numbered paragraph later in the document, when I update cross-references, the cross-reference to the numbered paragraph that directly follows the page break either gives the Error-reference not found or becomes 0. I understand why this happens, but want a solution so that I am able to use the cross reference to numbered paragraphs feature when a numbered paragraph follows a page break. |

Instead of inserting a manual page break, format your style (or specific
paragraph) as "Page break before" (Line and Page Breaks tab of Format | Paragraph). -- Suzanne S. Instead of the manual page break, apply "Page break before" paragraph
formatting to the numbered paragraph. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
