break template attachment
Is there an easy way to break the attachment to a non-existing template in a bunch of word files? Word 2003 takes around 5 minutes to open one, in the mean time you think it's locked up and crash it out. If you can stand to wait long enough then you can select a different template but that's not very effective when they have hundreds of them. |

break template attachment
If, as is often the case, your documents are (a) all in the same folder and
(b) all attached to the same (non-existent) template then one of the easiest ways is to create a template of the same name and put it in the folder with the documents - and it will then be used without Word searching the network and all the known universe. In this template you can put some code in an AutoOpen macro to change the template attachment. -- Enjoy, Tony Jollans Microsoft Word MVP "John" wrote in message ...
