Default Adobe Distiller makes bad page break from word document

If the text goes outside the margins, my case left and right, the PDF file
will have bad page breaks (break in a different location as the word file). I
had to increase my margins to 1.0-inch left and 0.8-inch right to get it to
break in the right spot. You can spend all day trying to make a PDF. You can
manually break the pages, unless you have a multi-page table.

Does anybody know what the minimum margins are for distilling Word to Adobe?

DonD:

Word lays out your text and breaks to a new page based on information it
gets from your printer.

If you set your default printer to Adobe PDF, or Acrobat Distiller, then do
your page layout the breaks you see on your screen will match the breaks in
the PDF. (You don't have to restart Word after you set the default printer.
You can do a "dummy" print where you select the Acrobat PDF printer then
click Cancel.)

To make your document print with the same breaks as the PDF, print the PDF,
not the Word document.

My €śscreen€ť page breaks still change when I first use the Adobe PDF print
opt as you described and then create the PDF. Im pretty close using 1-inch
left and 0.8-inch right margin (closer than the Adobe PDF Print opt) and Ill
have the same breaks in Word as PDF. Now that I know I can control the
variation (by L/R page margins) between Adobe PDF and every professional
printer in the office, I can get back to work.
