Word Conversion
G'Day Dev,
If you download OpenOffice 2.2 (it's FREE) from www.openoffice.org, then the Writer program will: Open Word '.doc' format files - usually very successfully Save edits back to '.doc' format or Word 2003 XML format Save As Open Office/Star Office OASIS/ODF format Save As RTF, Starwriter, HTML, AportisDoc ('.pdb' - Palm), DocBook (XML) and/or Pocket Word ('.psw' - Windows Mobile) Export to PDF Open Office is the core of Sun MicroSystems' Star Office (a very respectable office suite) see: http://www.sun.com/software/star/staroffice/index.jsp -- Regards, Pat Garard Melbourne, Australia _______________________ "dev" wrote in message ... Word Conversion
There used to be something called Word for Word (w4w), made by a company
called MasterWork. It was acquired by Adobe, but I don't know the current status. However, the product contained converters that could convert between just about any two word processing formats. I know that XyWrite 4 used the capabilities. You'd need to do some Google research to see if the converters still exist. If Adobe still makes them, you can count on them not being inexpensive. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "dev" wrote in message ...
