Default Word Tables

When I save a document consisting of tables all of the borders are
erased...is there any way to stop this from happening?
Thanks

Jay:

Are you sure you're losing borders, and not just the table gridline display?

Table Show/Hide Gridlines toggles the display of gridlines off and on.
Format Borders and Shading applies or removes borders.

That could be it, but when it occurs the table will print without the
gridlines...and when I restore the borders manually the problem is
fixed...but then once the document is saved again they disappear again.

Jay:

If you send me a copy of your document off list (my e-mail is in my profile)
I'll try to troubleshoot the problem for you. You didn't say what version of
Word you're using. If you're using 2007, I probably won't be able to help
you. If you're using 2003 or earlier, I'd be glad to try.
