Page Setup dialog box
I have Word 2003.
I have read that I could open the Page Setup dialog box by double-clicking at the top of the Ruler. When I double-click at the top of the Ruler, I get the Customize dialog box, not the Page Setup dialog box. Why is this so? Thank you for any help you can give me. |

Page Setup dialog box
You can get the Customize dialog by double-clicking on the empty area at the
end any toolbar, but I don't get Customize by clicking anywhere on the ruler. If the toolbar above your ruler is so short that the area where you're clicking is empty (wouldn't happen to me--I fill 'em up), then perhaps you're missing the ruler and hitting the toolbar? -- Suzanne S. The ruler sits within a gray "border" around the page, and the toolbars sit in another gray area above that. The "Customize" dialog comes from double-clicking in the toolbar area, meaning your cursor was a little too high. Rather than trying to get the cursor on the three- or four-pixel-high region between the ruler and the toolbar, put it in the blank area either to the right or to the left of the ruler and double-click there. That will indeed open the Page Setup dialog. (And double-clicking in the ruler itself will open the Tabs dialog, while also inserting a tab stop at the point where you clicked.) -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Page Setup dialog box
Thank you for responding, Suzanne.
I was evidently clicking on the toolbar area. I remedied the difficulty of clicking in the right spot by following Jay's suggestion that I click to the right of the ruler. This brought up the Page Setup dialog box. Have a very Good one. jfg "Suzanne S. Page Setup dialog box
Thank you, Jay.
Clicking to the right of the Ruler brought up the Page Setup dialog box. Wishing you the very best, jfg "Jay Freedman" wrote: On Sat, 5 May 2007 10:25:00 -0700, jfg wrote: I have Word 2003.
