Activating "add to dictionary" function in spell-check
My Word 2003 doesn't allow me to add to my spelling dictionary. When it
suspects a misspelled word, it shows all the options, including "add to dictionary." But the add option is disabled/grey. Thanks for your suggestions! |

I have the same problem as Larry B but in 2007. I could not find the

Activating "add to dictionary" function in spell-check
This is what I did:
In Word 2007 I went to "word options, proofing, Custom Dictionaires" and changeed lanuage to "English (US)" for the Custom.dic, which is the default. Clicked OK. Tried the right clidk on a word and the "add to dictionary" is still grayed. What do you recommend I do? Thanks "Suzanne S. As noted in the FAQ, the language setting for Custom.dic should be "All
