Track Changes 2003
When track changes is used in a Word 2003 document, set to "Final" view so
none of the markups are showing, and then sent as an email attachment, the recipient opens the attachment and always automatically sees the markups (doesn't matter which version of Word they have). It was not this way in Word 2000 and I'm not sure how it is in 2007. Is there any way to correct this other than saving the marked up version, then creating a copy and accepting/rejecting all the changes in that copy before sending? Do you know if this has been corrected in Word 2007? Thanks. -- Lynne |

Track Changes 2003
Actually, Word 2003's behavior IS the correction. In earlier versions, it
was possible to open a document and not realize that it contained tracked changes. This created many problems and headaches, not to mention unexpected results when editing. In fact, there are several other active threads where this turned out to be at the bottom of some mysterious editing changes in Word 97 and 2000. Because of those problems, Microsoft changed the behavior so that now when you open a file that contains tracked changes, Word 2003 and Word 2007 automatically show the tracked changes. So, the bottom line now is that if you don't want someone to see the tracked changes, then you'll need to send a file that does not contain tracked changes. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "LynneA" wrote in message ...
