Default status bar work 2007

I have customized the status bar to display the page, section, page of page.
The problem is that the display does not change when I move from page to page
and section to section so I cannot tell what section or page I am actually
in. I need this info so I can print separate sections as I keep notes on
clients.

Is there a bug with the status bar?
Is there something I am missing to ask the status bar to tell me where in
the document I might be for printing specific pages in specific sections?
Thanks

Are you in Web or Draft view, by any chance? Try setting the view to Print
Layout. Does this make those items appear?

Sometimes the status bar is lazy in updating (when the whole document has
not been paginated.) Try pushing CTRL+END to go to the end of the document
and force a repagination and then SHIFT+F5 to get back to where you where.
