I'm working with a document created by someone else so I'm trying to
understand how it is set up. There are blank pages following page 1, 3, and 5 in the document when you look at it in print preview or actually print it. But those blank pages don't exist when working with it on the screen. I can't follow how this was done. If anyone knows, I would appreciate your help. Thanks! |

Here's what it sounds like... it sounds like each page is a separate
document section, and the document is set up so that each section begins on an odd page. If this is what's happening, then you should se section breaks before pages 3 and 5. And, when you choose File - Page Setup - Layout tab, Section Start would be set to Odd Page. Someone might do this if they have a duplex printer and are trying to force each page onto a separate sheet of paper, rather than front and back. (Although, there are better ways to do this). To fix it, set Section start: to Continuous or New Page, depending on which one you want. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Angiebelle" wrote in message ... Hi Herb,
Thanks for the info. What your saying makes perfect sence. But each of the 3 sections are set up as, Section start: New Page, Headers and Footers: Different first page. To see if the H/F option was responsible, I deselected it, but it didn't change anything. The blank pages were still there. So I changed the Section start option to Coninuous, but still, no change. I'm completely baffled! Any other suggestions? Thanks! If you'd care to send it to me--assuming it's not sensitive or
proprietary--I'd be happy to take a look. I'm sure it's something simple, but it's hard to diagnose without seeing it. If so... send to herb at the herbtyson.com domain (the things we must do to avoid spam harvesters....). -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Angiebelle" wrote in message ... Thanks for the suggestion, Suzanne, but I don't think it is using a field; at
least I can't detect the use of a field. "Suzanne S. Herb,
I don't understand how this was set up, but thanks to your comments yesterday, I'm not going to knock myself out trying to figure it out! I decided to just delete the original section breaks between all three pages and start over with my own section breaks set for odd pages. This setup/layout will now be obvious to all who work with this document going forward! Thanks so much for your help. ~Angie "Herb Tyson [MVP]" wrote: If you'd care to send it to me--assuming it's not sensitive or proprietary--I'd be happy to take a look. If you insert an Odd Page break, you will almost certainly get some blank
pages. See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BlankPage.htm for other possibilities. -- Suzanne S.
