I am completely unable to use word at the moment. Any file that opens
it automatically tries to save the file, and the save dialogue
continues to appear (or reappears) immediately after you save. So you
can never work on the document. I figure it is a word macro virus. So
I deleted normal.dot and then ran my virus scanner, but can't get rid
of it. Any tips?

Follow the steps under "If Word crashes as soon as it opens" in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm. Even though
you aren't dealing with a crash, the procedure to troubleshoot is the
same. Removing and replacing normal.dot is only one of several steps
to take.
