I can print a theme using the tools - options - background printing, but I
cannot convert the .doc to a .pdf and retain the theme. Is there a way to do
this? I am using Word 2003.

Tools options print background colors and images works for me with
Acrobat and SnagIt. If you want a more accurate rendition of the background
then use SnagIt's scrolling screen capture.
