office 2007 documents not printing and no error messages
I have about 10 office documents that I cannot print. However, I am not
getting any error messages. As a matter of fact, I get the message saying that it has been sent to the printer. The job even leaves the print q but nothing comes out of the printer. As I stated before, there are only 10 out of about 50 documents that don't print, which leads me to believe that it is not my printer. I think it there is setting somewhere that I just cannot seem to find. Please help. Thanks |

these are documents that were produced in MS word. It has to be MS word,
otherwise, wouldn''t I have this problem when I print reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. And it is not even all of the word doc. just a few Ms word documents. The latest printer driver is installed on the printer. The printer prints fine with the exception of like ten word docurments. I know it doesn't make sense, but it has to be a word issue, b/c it does not happen with any thing else I send to the printer. Also the printer is a network printer -xerox phaser 8660 laserjet. When you say "office documents", are they all Word files or files produced by other apps as well? -- Regards |:) Bob Jones [MVP] Office:Mac "Freida" wrote in message ... office 2007 documents not printing and no error messages
Hi Freida -
I'm not trying to be difficult, but there is no setting in Word that regulates what percentage of your docs get printed. Likewise, if it were a Word problem it seems that there would be significantly more than 10 out of the 50 that fail to print. Also, Word's file structure has always been one of the more comlplex even though "word processing" may seem to be one of the "least demanding" tasks. It isn't uncommon for a printer to handle some jobs OK & yet have a problem with others. And, like I said before, once the job is handed off to the printer/print server Word is no longer involved - in fact, once the Print command is issued the operating system, printer/driver & their connectivity pretty much carry the ball from there. I still don't think the problem is Word, but it _could_ be something about the individual documents. Is it always the same 10 documents? Is there anything these docs have in common that distinguishes them from the ones that do print OK: Layout changes with section breaks, graphic content, large/nested tables, etc.? Have you tried printing these same documents from another system and/or to a different printer? Are they in .doc or .docx format? Have you tried saving any of these files in an earlier (non-.docx) or RTF format to see if that would print? Did they originate in Word 2007 or were they created in an earlier version - if so, which? Also - and it may just be a matter of phrasing - but drivers don't get installed on the printer, they get installed on the systems that use the printer. The driver needs to be updated on each system that accesses the printer. -- Regards |:) Bob Jones [MVP] Office:Mac "Freida" wrote in message ... these are documents that were produced in MS word. Rephrase your question....
If some print and others don't.... Are they all in your Print Que waiting to be printed? if Yes... turn printer off then on again seems with somehow the print jobs create a log jam and need to be redirected... you will see once printer is back online all your documents printing. Also another way to print your doc's is right click the filename print you do not need word opened for this. hope this helps "Freida" wrote: these are documents that were produced in MS word.
