Default Normal template

Where do I find the Normal.dotm template in Office 2007? Finding it in 2003
was easy but I can never find it in Office 2007. Help files tell you to
click New and then choose Templates but that folder is empty. And the search
in Vista never finds it. I know it's there somewhere - can anyone help?

Thanks a bunch.

Same place as 2003 in your Templates ¨Blank Document¨ is Normal.dotm. If you
look in Office Button
Word Options
Advanced
General File Locations you will see the default template path or you can
change it.

Hope this helps.

Appreciate your response. However, the path you suggest takes you to User
Templates when what I am looking for is the location of the program's
Normal.dotm template.

Default Normal template

Normal.dotm *is* saved in the user templates folder (or it should be if Word
has been setup correctly). Note this is a hidden file and location.

Thanks very much. Never thought of looking for a hidden file. Guess I
should have as I seen to recall the Normal template has always been a hidden
file.

Found it. Much appreciated.

Default Normal template

Graham - can you provide a path for me as I changed my settings to look in a
templates directory I had set up. I tried to save one of my own templates
that I used under word 2003 as my default and it won't let me - keeps showing
me its cruddy normal version. I have tried to rename the template I want to
use, put it in what I think is the right directory and nothing......

highly frustrated individual

Only Word can create a normal template!
The user template path which will contain the normal template is whatever is
configured at Word Optuins Advanced General File Locations User
templates. By default -
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
