Is the text in the paragraph justified? If so, then you need to set a
compatibility option. Tools - Options - Compatibility, Don't expand character spaces on the line ending Shift-Return (Word 2003). In Word 2007, look in Office - Word Options - Advanced - Compatibility options (at the bottom of the scrollable dialog). -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "kytty_76" wrote in message ... Alternatively, if you want to preserve the ability to justify lines, you can
press Tab before you press Shift+Enter. -- Suzanne S.
