I have searched a couple of sites, but had not seen this addressed anywhere.
I created a Word document in 07 and saved in compatibility mode (97-03) and
sent it out for review to a couple of people. Even though it was in .DOC
format, two of the users got an "Unrecognized format" error message when
trying to open the document on their blackberry. I have checked the RIM
website but to no avail. Is this a known issue, and if so is there a
solution?

Are you sure those users have some sort of a Word viewer on their
Blackberries?

Yes,

I am sure they have viewers as they have been able to view similar
attachments when I sent them from my other PC using Word (XP) and Outlook
(XP). We are currently testing Vista with Office 2007, and this is one of
the issues to come to light. One of the users from the Blackbery forum said
they were able to forward 07 office attachments (compatibility mode) so long
as it was send from Outlook 03 instead of 07. Have not verified that yet.
