Default Background Question

I am using microsoft word 2000.

I have created a report cover that is full bleed and when I the cover into
the background of my header or footer, Word inserts a .25-.5 inch white
margin around my full bleed image.

Is there any remedy to this problem? For e-mailing purposes I would like the
full bleed image to display without the white margin.

Word is only obeying what your printer driver is telling it about the
printable area. Most printers are incapable of printing full bleed, although
it's becoming common on "photo" printers. Word neither knows nor cares that
you're emailing the document instead of printing on paper; it still relies
on the printer driver for information.

Although there is a Format Background menu item (which may or may not be
present in Word 2000, but I don't have it handy to check), that applies the
background to the entire document and not just the cover page.

I think you're stuck.

Default Background Question

I realized after posting that it was more of a printer driver problem. The
..pdf converter that I have attatched to word is painfully slow, so I normally
print it to postscript before distilling it in acrobat...but that doesn't
work so well with full bleed images.

Thanks for the reply Jay.
