I need to fill out some government forms that were supplied as Word docs.
How can I overtype, so that entries appear on the lines and Xs appear in the boxes where they are supposed to go? I don't know which Word version was used to create the forms. I have Overtype Mode checked in Options/Edit, and have tried switching between the two Insert modes on the keyboard. The articles I found at the Microsoft Knowledge Base deal with Word 97, but the procedures don't seem to work in Word 2003. Thanks as always for your help. Orrie |

If these forms do not contain form fields, then they were not meant to be
filled out in Word but instead to be printed and filled out by hand or with a typewriter. You can manage to do it in Word, but not without way more trouble than it's worth. -- Suzanne S.
