I know that it is possible to have different margin setups on one page by
inserting a continuous section break. So i placed my cursor and selected the position in the document where i wanted to insert the break, that worked fine. But then i did file page setup, adjusted margins, selected apply to this section then enter, the cursor then moved to a second new page. I was hoping to have the adjusted margins occur to just once section of the page. what am i doing wrong? P.S i have difficulties navigating these forums, it would be appreciated if you could email your response to me too as well please. |

Although you can set different (side) margins on a page by inserting section
breaks, this is not the preferred technique in Word. Instead, add indents to your paragraphs. -- Suzanne S. ![]() I tried this but i could only set indents in the white areas of the margins when i want to start a new paragraph closer to the edge of the page and i couldn't figure out how to set an indent in the blue section, to the left of where the margin is set? Chris,
Just drag the left indent markers (use the square one at the bottom) from the ruler into the blue section as you call it. You can also do this in the paragraph dialogue, just put in a negative indent e.g. - 0.5 inch. Does that not work for you? -- Luc Sanders MVP - PowerPoint "chris" schreef in bericht ... ![]() That was what i was after Thankyou very much. I decided to drag, rather than use the negative indent.
