Word version = 2007; OS = Win XP Pro. I have a Word 2007 doc that contains a
line in two different paragraphs that has a gap or space between two words. I cannot close this space. It looks like this, when is should look like this - one space between "look" and "this." I thought it might be corruption and have copied and pasted the entire doc in a new file - not a solution. I have changed paragraph alignment to left justified, center and right, but no luck. I've cleared all formatting in the paragraph - again, no change. Any advice appreciated. Thanks! |

Is the paragraph justified? Are there any nonprinting characters in the gap?

If Suzanne's suggestion doesn't lead to a solution... how did you clear all
formatting in the paragraph? Select the two words and try clicking the Clear Formatting tool in the Font section of the Home ribbon tab (unless this is what you already did). If this and Suzanne's suggestion don't lead to a solution, if you email a sample Word document that demonstrates the problem, I'd be happy to take a look to see if I can identify the culprit. My apologies to all for not replying earlier. I am grateful for the help. I
must not have checked the "notify me of replies" box when i first posted. Suzanne's suggestion solved the problem. Thanks again!! Tuck "Tuck1930" wrote: Word version = 2007; OS = Win XP Pro.
