I am trying to assemble a large document from a series of individual doc's. I
am trying to do it by copying and Paste Special. The doc's are all in Word. All the single page doc's are linking ok but the multiple pages only show and print the first page when pasted into the receiving document. I have tried to select text but the Paste Special dialogue box does not allow the Paste link. I have been linking these doc's as files. Is this the right option? |

Which format are you pasting in? Note that if you are pasting as an object
you will never see beyond the first page. Alternatively, you can insert the documents instead. In Word 2003, use Insert | File. Select the file to insert, click the arrow next to the Insert button, and choose to Insert as Link. In Word 2007, do this to display the Insert File dialog box: On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click the arrow next to Object, and then click Text from File. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Old 55" wrote: I am trying to assemble a large document from a series of individual doc's. You can try creating a 'Master Document' - that will incorporate all the docs
into one without you having to 'paste' anything. The Word Help file has excellent instructions - I've used it many times! -- Need HELP SOON! Thanks. Hi Stefan.
I am working within Word 2003 and pasting As File. A small flow chart is included in one or more of the docs and when transferred, the text appears outside of the boxes. Any suggestions for this also? "Stefan Blom" wrote: Which format are you pasting in? Note that if you are pasting as an object you will never see beyond the first page. I have tried using 'Master Document' before but it seems unstable. Also, I am
not sure if it can link to the original so that the Master Doc can be updated. I have had some success with Paste Special and File/ Insert as Link, but neither totally satisfactory.Paste is reasonably stable but does not allow more than the first page of a doc to be linked and has moved the text outside of a flow chart. Insert seems to add extra tabs or the docs get bigger than the original, but it is hard to see where. Also, some Bold formats do not transfer correctly. Ideas? I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. I don't use flow charts that
often. Have you tried if linking the files (as I suggested in my previous message) works? -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Old 55" wrote in message ... Hi Stefan.
