Default Saving templates prompts me to rename the file

I have a user who users word Templates and when she tries to save changes to
the template it prompts her to rename the file. This user was upgraded from a
Windows 2000 PC running Office 2000 to a Windows XP machine running Office
2003. Could the upgrade be causing the issue?

1. Save the template as 'Save As' with the different name. Make sure you
select Word document 2003 in 'Save As' window.

2. Close this file.
3. Re-open the newly saved file.
4. Now save it as Word Template.

This should help.

Will this fix it to the point that if I reopen the template I can save my
changes from here on in or will I have to this every time? Also is this an
issue with upgrading or what?
